“Jackass” Knoxville Brings Grenade On Plane, Gets Detained

Johnny Knoxville of “Jackass” fame was detained by authorities on Thursday at Los Angeles International Airport. The grenade was caught by the airport’s security screeners inside of one of his carry on bags. The bomb squad was called in, and found that it didn’t have explosive or a firing pin. Knoxville was allowed for release later that day, and boarded an American Airlines flight headed to Miami. He is reported to have told the authorities that the grenade was a stage prop which he had forgotten to take out of his bag before packing and attempting to board the flight. Knoxville can still face charges for the supposed mistake, which is a misdeamenor. If prosecution seeks charges, it will be the crime of bringing a prohibited item into a secure area within the airport.

Some people who are caught by security with various prohibited items are put on a list and or fined, not to mention arrested. You can find a list of the Transportation Security Administration’s prohibited items, as well as information for carry on liquids, passengers with disabilities, and accessory guidelines at http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

You would think that Johnny K would know better than to bring a grenade to an airport,
especially with the way security is now.
