Weird But True: Each Day I’m Glad High School Is Over
Most people probably don’t think much about high school once they are out. Or, on the other hand, maybe some who were these popular and preppy stuck ups think about it all of the time. They most likely spend all of their time hating the real world, and how it doesn’t fall on bended knee for them as their small, insignificant world did when they were in kiddie lane. I for one, am thankful each day that I don’t have to step one foot into that hell hole from the deepest bowels of the earth called Massac County High School! Being an adult is hard, and it presents its own challenges each day. However, I’d rather face these requirements than be stuck in that so-called institution of learning.
I mean really, let’s think about it. I had a pretty good amount of “friends,” and even more outside of school. I did good in school, but I skipped as much as I could. Personally, that school was full of idiots, racists, and just plain crackheads with big heads. The few people who actually had some common sense sadly were not teachers. There were only a few teachers who were cool, and did not strictly cater to the prep and jock crowd. The students who just came to school because they had to, like everyone else, tried to get along with people, and get it over with basically. These were the people you would actually want to be around, and could stand. They weren’t there in an attempt to flash around all of their “new and expensive” stuff, or brag about how much money they had, how many friends they hang out with, how many different boyfriends and jocks they rotate between with their friends, etc. We “rejects” from the brainless popular crowd were there to get it all over with, and go into the real world.
Ah the real world, where it doesn’t matter who your mother or father is, you still have to take care of yourself and do your own work. The world where you can’t sit and copy everything to get by with making everyone think you’re not a dumbass. No favorites, no rear end kissing because your daddy got me a principle or school board job. You must pull your own weight, or crash real world. Now, most of us who grew up hard and poor, had to make our own way. We might have had two parents, but many of us did not. You see, having a step-parent isn’t like having a real one. Most steps we grew up with were only there to hook up with your biological parent. They made it clear that you were not their kid, and they were not going to try to get along with you, and they sure as hell weren’t going to take care of you. They were just there to leach, but anything good you do will be “because of them and all of the hard parenting work they put into you.” Yeah sure, wrinklestilstkin, you were a real PTA parent, with your holiday ruining, drunken self. LoL, but alas, I am glad that I’m an adult. I don’t have to go to High School, with the little squads of ridiculous gatherings. I had more to my life then, and even more now…thank goodness it’s over!
